Though known primarily for his creepy comic book art, Michael has also designed t-shirts, TV graphics and gruesome tattoos. Horror is his specialty—with a deadly dose of black humor tossed in! His stories have been featured in Heavy Metal, Slow Death, Bizarre Sex, American Splendor, Star*Reach, Quack!, Batman,and Walt Disney’s Comics & Stories, Michael T. has tackled such diverse characters as Superman, Batman, Dr. Strange, Elric, Mickey Mouse, Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck. But Michael’s signature creation remains his fearless monster-fighting superhero, Doc Stearn … Mr. Monster! Doc’s loyal fans include Alan Moore, Neal Gaiman, Harlan Ellison, Simon Bisley and Glenn Danzig.
Additionally, Mr. Monster also hosts “Mr. Monster’s Comic Crypt,” a monthly column devoted to comic book history for Alter Ego magazine. Michael currently lives in rain-drenched Oregon with his wife, Janet ––and the huge, festering pile of pulp he laughingly calls his comic book collection!
